***Manchester Man Leads Police on a High Speed Chase Down Wilson Street***

A 28 year old Manchester man lead police on a high speed chase down Wilson Street yesterday afternoon. Terrence Sleweon of Maple Street was leaving Pidgeon's Market on Wilson when Officer Thomas Donovan tried to pull him over for a missing license plate on the front of his car. (NH law states that both plates be present and visible)

Sleweon was wanted by the US Marshal so instead of pulling over and complying he decided that leading the police on a chase through the city would be a better idea. WRONG.

Speeds approached 50mph on Wilson Street which is not necessarily a high rate of speed but for those streets it is, especially around 5pm in the afternoon when there are children around playing. Sleweon turned quickly onto Somerville Street hoping to lose the officer but Officer Donovan stayed right on him. He blew through multiple stop signs between Lincoln and Union before he made a sharp left and began North on Union Street.

The chase was called off due to unsafe conditions and the police ended up losing sight of the car. Sleweon thought he had lost them however instead of hiding the car somewhere he was smart enough to park in a driveway at 165 Taylor Street. Officer Din Jenkins was driving by and happened to spot the car. They found Sleweon in a yard at a nearby house and attempted to arrest him. He fought with Detective Aaron Brown for a few minutes before he was cuffed.

Sleweon is facing charges of disobeying a police officer, a felony charge of reckless conduct, resisting arrest, and driving with a suspended/revoked license. He also had $4,800 in cash on his which was seized after a K-9 unit smelled drugs on the cash.

He was wanted by the US Marshal for failing to report to a federal halfway house following two years in a federal prison for distributing cocaine.

Another fine upstanding citizen of ManchVegas!
