***Man Arrested After Biting State Trooper and Then Stealing a Car***

Winner, winner, chicken dinner! 43 year old Sean McGurk is being formally charged after a December incident in Salem, NH.

The Brentwood resident was stranded on 93 North in Salem when a state trooper pulled over to help him. Officer Powers said that he would call a tow truck for McGurk and would need his license and registration. McGurk claimed that he didn't have his wallet on him and began looking for documents in his car. While he was leaning into the car Officer Powers noticed that he had a wallet in his back pocket. McGurk then tried to flee from the scene. The officer tackled him and pulled out the taser and pepper spray but apparently that was not enough to stop McGurk. He got desperate when the officer began to cuff him so he bit him. He went all zombie-style and drew blood on the officer's finger. As the officer was dazed for a moment McGurk got up and took off towards a nearby house.

Instead of continuing to run and instead of hiding McGurk decided that it would be a good idea to steal a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am that was in the driveway of the house near the highway. He was found staying at a motel in Mass along 93 two days later with the stolen car.

McGurk is being held on $150,000 cash bail due to this incident and his prior history.

His past convictions include:

- Theft
- Falsifying physical evidence
- Reckless conduct
- Burglary
- Conduct after an accident
- Resisting arrest

His new charges include:

- Enhanced simple assault
- Theft by unauthorized taking
- Two counts of operating as a habitual offender
-Resisting arrest

The charge against him for biting the state trooper can carry a sentence of two to five years in a state prison if he is convicted.
