***Daily Breakdown 03/19/2014***

Goooooooood morning everyone! Last day of winter!!!! (although sadly we will still be seeing winter weather)

WEATHER: Today we will be seeing a high of 43 but then in the evening it is going to snow. We should only see about an inch of accumulation before it changes over to rain. Tomorrow it will be raining but it will be 49 degrees.

TRAFFIC: Traffic is moving along nicely with the exception of a spot on 93 South by the Hooksett tolls which is a little slow but nothing terrible.

HEADLINES: The Alderman has decided to speed up the parking fee increases in Manchester. The parking meters will remain the same at 75 cents per hour with hours of operation from 8am-8pm Monday through Saturday. The monthly lot costs around the city will be going up: Victory Garage from $75 to $85, the Millyard Lot from $45 to $55, and parking on surface lots will go from $50 to $60. They estimate that this will bring in over $500k in revenue to the city.

The internet company Dyn is trying to put a sign with its name on the top of the millyard building that it is housed in but the city is saying "no". They want to make a sign that is three times bigger than what the city ordinances allow. They argue that it is just keeping with the tone of the millyard and its history as the script was borrowed from the Pandora Sweaters sign that had been hanging on the building for so many years. The square footage of an approved sign in the Millyard can be no more than 500 sq. ft and the proposed sign from Dyn is 1,470 sq ft with letters that are 24 feet tall and the sign would be 10ft off of the roof. From the proposal photo they submitted it looks like it would be a huge eyesore and really ruin the skyline IMO:

Manchester's Ready for Success summer program will be expanded this summer thanks to a generous $25k donation from the Norwin S. and Elizabeth N. Bean Foundation. It will allow 75 more first graders to be invited into the program that helps kindergarten and first grade students with reading and writing skills.

SPORTS: The Bruins have won their 10th straight game as they beat the Devils 4-2 last night. Stanley Cup....here we come! The Red Sox lost 8-1 to the Yankees yesterday after their game had been delayed by a large swarm of bees.

CLOSURES: No road closures are scheduled at this time.

Have a great day everyone and think Spring!!!!
