***$15,000 in Heroin recovered, 3 Arrested***

Three more drug dealers are off the streets of Manchester tonight. A Laurel Street address was found to be a major heroin hub after a six month investigation. Police had noticed a lot of foot traffic in and out of the address and watched it carefully.

Wednesday morning they zeroed in on the car that they believed belonged to the people dealing the heroin. They made a planned traffic stop at 11:30 am and found exactly what they knew they would. Geraldy Santiago Martinez, 25, and Shanti Jehlicka, 20, were in the car. Martinez was arrested for two counts of possession with intent to distribute. His charges didn't stop there however. He was smart enough to be a convicted felon with a stolen handgun on his person at the time of the stop. He is also a habitual offender. Jehlicka was also charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute. She was charged with receiving stolen property. Along with the stolen handgun (which had been traced back to a 2013 burglary in December) the police found 200 rounds of ammunition. The gun had been traded for heroin earlier in the day.

The  police then went to the Laurel Street address to bring in Michael Santiago, 25, of Lawrence, MA on charges of possession with intent to distribute. He tried to evade officers and threw a package out of the apartment window before fleeing. The package contained 93 grams of heroin and 10 Oxycodone pills. Santiago was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and falsifying evidence.

The police hope that these arrests will give the neighbors a little peace of mind for the moment now that the dealers are behind bars.
