***Daily Breakdown 03/05/14***

Good morning everyone. I hope anyone that raced last night in the 5K is well rested and all warmed up!

WEATHER: Today we will be seeing a high of 29 degrees with a 40% chance of snow showers. We will not see a ton of accumulation from the showers. Tomorrow night it is going to be very chilly again with a prediction of 0 degrees. Not the worst we have had by far but still cold!

TRAFFIC: Today's traffic is iffy. You are slow on 93 North from Hooksett up through the tolls. Route 101 East and West are slow from Manchester to Raymond. Route 3 and 293 are looking good for the moment though.

HEADLINES: A school in Alton is one of the many customers that have been let down by Fred Fuller who is still having issues getting deliveries to people in time. Their phones are still an issue. Some of their customers are saying that they will stick with Fuller because they know that things are a little crazy right now. Others say that there is no excuse as other companies are getting oil out the next day and will be changing companies. People who have prepaid for their oil feel stuck because Fuller has the money that they need for oil and they can't get it back for oil from another company but they are not getting their delivery from Fuller.

Yet another 2 weeks will go by before a judge sentences former Manchester police detective Stephen Coco due to an illness of one of the victim's mothers. On March 22nd, 2013, almost one year ago, Coco ran down to teenagers while driving through Bedford. He then took off after he hit the pedestrians. He has been charged with two felony counts of misconduct after an accident and is looking at a sentence of 3.5 to 7 years per charge plus a $4,000 fine per charge. Both of the teens had to be treated at the hospital, one for a brain bleed that possibly could have been deadly had it not been treated right away. Coco claimed that he had been reaching for his cell phone at the time of the accident and didn't realize that the undercover police vehicle that he was driving had hit people, he thought he had hit a snowbank.

Radio Shack will be closing 1,100 stores across the country due to a 19% dip in sales. They have not released a list of which stores will be closed yet and they have not said how many jobs this will impact. Radio Shack currently has 5,200 stores across the nation which is a huge number as compared to other retailers such as Best Buy which has just over 1,000 stores across the country and Walmart which has 4,203 stores nationwide.

Two Manchester men were arrested at different bars over the weekend, both involving weapons. Timothy O'Regan of 141 Second Street was arrested at Club ManchVegas for possession of a concealed weapon as he was carrying an unlicensed gun that he said he found. When he was searched at the police station he was found to have a small amount of cocaine on him as well. The other person arrested was Felipe Olinger of 485 Dubuque Street. He was at Social 24 and had been drinking when he pulled out a handgun that he had holstered and pointed it at an employee. He was taken out of the building by security but threatened that he was going to shoot out the windows. He was then found in front of Drynk and arrested. The manager of Drynk didn't file a complaint until a few days after the incident.

SPORTS: The Red Sox were trampled 8-0 by the Tampa Bay Rays. The Bruins blazed past Tim Thomas and the Panthers 4-1.

CLOSURES: There are no scheduled closures at this time.

Fun Fact: On Forest Road in Greenfield, NH you can find a pumpkin-launching trebuchet (catapult) that stands on ten foot tall wheels, is an impressive seven stories high, and can launch a 300 pound object over a quarter of a mile. Also located in the small forge is a gigantic wrecking ball, a castle, pumpkin fields, a pond, and castle gates. It is open to the public and is really neat. The trebuchet helped the builder, Steve Seigars to break a world record for pumpkin chucking. See some photos below, I was lucky enough to get to check this out last year.
