***Fight on Laurel Street Information***

Nearly 40 people broke out into an all-out brawl on Laurel Street this evening. There were a few that had baseball bats with them as well. Three teenagers were arrested for riot charges as well as assault charges.

Hector Velez, 18, has been arrested and charged with one count of riot and three separate counts of second-degree assault.

Ahmed Shehabeldin, 19 was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and riot charges as well (they do not state how many at this time).

A 16 year old was also arrested and charged with second-degree assault and riot charges but his name is being withheld as he is still a minor.

A 17 year old victim was brought to the Elliot Hospital with rib injuries that were not life threatening.

There may be more arrests and more charges that will be brought up as the detectives interview the three teens that they have already arrested. There may also be additional victims that come forward who did not seek treatment while the fight was in progress. They are not sure why the fight was started or whether drugs and alcohol were involved.
