***Daily Breakdown 3/3/14***

You asked for it, so it shall remain! Your Daily Breakdown...comin' up!

WEATHER: Today we will see a high of 21 degrees (not that this is high by any means!) and it will be partly cloudy. The good news is that winter storm Titan is going farther South. We did not get hit with even a flurry yesterday (oh darn, I am sure you are all so sad). Just keep thinking about spring!

TRAFFIC: Traffic is great this morning, no backups are being reported.

HEADLINES: There is pretty much nothing in the news about Manchester (go figure!). A very large fight with an estimated 30 people broke out last night on Laurel Street. There were some injuries but the extent of those injuries is not known at this time.

A rollover crash in Windham yesterday left a 25 year old woman dead. They are still looking into the cause of the fatal accident.

A very lucky man in Milford came out of a snowmobile accident pretty much unscathed after his snowmobile was impaled by a treetop that had fallen to the ground. Police say that speed may have been a factor in this crash although there have been no charges filed. The man was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and is now at home recovering. Someone was watching over his shoulder!

A Merrimack man was arrested by Manchester police yesterday for the stabbing of a teenager in Merrimack. The 20 year old got into a fight with the teen, stabbed him, and then took off. He didn't get very far though and MPD was happy to help to catch him. The teenager was treated at a local hospital and is doing well.

In national news, a charity based in Texas is stating that they will be pursuing legal action against the Boston Red Sox for the use of the "B Strong" slogan which they claim that they trademarked seven years ago. The Braden Aboud Memorial Foundation says that they feel that donations are not coming in like they used to because people are confused by the marketing of the slogan which is now painted on the Green Monster in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing last year. (I respect that the charity is trying to keep raising donations however I am pretty sure that "confusion" is not the reason that donations are coming in anymore. Can you honestly say that someone would go to donate money and then go, "Oh...B Strong...am I donating to the Red Sox even though it says Braden About Memorial Foundation?" I am going to go with a resounding NO)

SPORTS: The Red Sox won their second spring training game over the Baltimore Orioles, 8-6. GO SOX! The Boston Bruins creamed the Rangers 6-3!

There are no road closures today but check tomorrow's Daily Breakdown as there WILL be closures on Elm Street tomorrow for the Fat Tuesday 5K race in Manchester which is taking place at 7pm.

Fun Fact: The first potato ever planted in the entire country was planted in Londonderry Common Field which is about a mile East of the Derry rotary on East Derry Road, in 1719.
