The shootings continue on Maple...
Last night a 17 year old said that he was outside with his friends at a house on the corner of Cedar and Maple when a car drove up and three men got out. He said that one of them had a gun in his waistband so they all ran inside. Multiple shots were fired at the home. Fortunately no one was hit in this incident. The bullets hit the front door of the building and the debris from one of the bullets caused a cut on the teen's face. Other than that there were no injuries.
They said that the man who was shooting the gun was a black male around six feet and two inches tall. He is said to have bad acne on his face, lighter skin, and is thin. The last thing that he was seen wearing was a gray hoodie, white shorts, and dark sneakers with white socks. He was last seen heading down Maple. The vehicle was a newer model Chevy Impala which was silver. It had tinted windows.
In the last week and a half we have seen three different shootings on Maple Street. The first was a drive-by shooting on Maple and Lowell on June 8th where a man was shot in the leg. He is expected to make a full recovery.
Then on June 11th there was a shooting on Maple and Amherst. A man was shot in the back. He is also in stable condition and will survive.
There have been no arrests made in any of these shootings and police haven't said if they are connected or not.
Seems like a good idea to get away from Maple Street anywhere between Bridge and Cilley!!
