***East High Street Shooting Update***

The man who allegedly shot 29 year old Ashley Willows is now in jail. On Monday in the early morning hours, Ashley was "drawn" to her window. When she was standing by the window someone fired shots at her. She was struck in the chest and the abdomen but the bullets did not pierce the skin. The shooter has been identified as 40 year old Malachi Yahtues.

Yahtues had a tattoo done by Willows but he never paid her. Willows paid him a visit at him home and asked him for the money which he still did not give her. On Saturday he paid her a visit at her home and threatened to kill her dog. He hit her in the face and implied that he had shot people before.

On Wednesday, Yahtues had been arraigned in court on assault charges for the incident on Saturday. After it was found that he had also been the shooter he was charged with six additional felony charges. His bail has been set at $110,000 cash only. His new charges include 2 counts of criminal threatening, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, career armed felon, first-degree assault, and tampering with a witness.

His wife stated that they had gotten into an argument on Sunday night while he was intoxicated. He called her names and then pulled out the gun stating that he was going to shoot her, their child, and then himself. He left the apartment around midnight and came back at 12:45am telling her that "I have been here the whole time". He later had her drive near Willows' apartment once the police were on scene.

Yahtues has had convictions from Massachusetts including two assaults with a deadly weapon, distributing cocaine, and possession with intent to distribute. Shocker.

  1. Aww... did she make you feel embarrassed. Maybe next you'll pay what you owe her and not try to kill someone over a petty debt... your so cool. And to the victim...
Cash up front. Or you get scum like this who never intended to pay one cent, hoping you would go away. Good for you for standing your ground.
