***Man Arrested for Stealing Human Skin***

I know, I know, this isn't NH. But it is definitely something that makes you go...wtf?

At first glance Gary Dudek looks like an ordinary man. He had a good job working for Organogenesis. He was a sales rep at the Massachusetts based company. Their primary business is organ and tissue regeneration. Dudek worked out of Mercy Hospital which is located in Philadelphia. He was the primary sales rep at the hospital for Organogenesis. He was in charge of all of the sales accounts for the hospital and was also in charge of the tissue supply to Mercy.

Recently Dudek was arrested after he was seen carrying skin samples to his car and taking off with them. After an investigation they had found that he was using his position as a sales rep to get more and more skin. They found that he had stolen 200 units of the skin grafts. Each of those units was valued at $1,700 bringing his total to almost $350,000.

The skin still has not been found. Did they check his basement? Is he building a person in his home? Where did all of that skin go?!

The investigators believe that Dudek was making it look like the hospital was buying the grafts out of need. Most of the purchases were unauthorized and the hospital never received the grafts. They suspect that he did this to pocket the commission that he would get per sale. Dudek's attorney does not feel that criminal charges are warranted in this case as before this was revealed Dudek had been a loyal and hardworking employee. He said that if the hospital had suffered losses than perhaps they should bring a civil suit against him, but not a criminal one.

I would say that making hundreds of thousands of dollars in unauthorized purchases and then disposing of skin grafts that could be put to such good use is a criminal matter!
