***Hero Spotlight - Christopher Duffley***

Christopher Duffley started life earlier than he should have. He was born at just 26 weeks. He was only one pound and 12 ounces, was blind, and had cocaine running through his blood. He had been placed into foster care. His aunt brought him home and loved him as if he was her own. As he grew, he was diagnosed with Autism. Then one day at Northwest Elementary in first grade his life changed. He sang the Star Spangled Banner in front of his peers, their parents, and veterans during an assembly. From that point on he has been called upon to sing the national anthem all over the country.

Christopher has sung at schools, galas, sporting events, and more. Some of his most notable performances were at Fenway Park and during a Nascar event. He was featured at the Red Cross Heroes breakfast in 2013, seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJwsbnPApfQ. Once his musical gift had been realized there was no stopping Christopher. He loves to sing and you can see the joy that it gives him. He has been an inspiration to many for overcoming what he has and continuing to have a smile on his face and an excitement for life. Christopher has even released two CDs of his own!

Through his incredible journey, Christopher has taken some of his strength and given it to others who may have needed a helping hand. His family created the Know Greater Love Ministry foundation which aims to help people overcoming adversity through the power of faith. Christopher has inspired so many people through his musical gift and his amazing spirit. This is just one of the many reasons that Christopher Duffley is our first “Manchester Hero Spotlight” hero!
