Bernie Sanders Speaks to Manchester Voters - 05/28/19

2020 Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders spoke to a crowd of New Hampshire voters last night at the DoubleTree by Hilton on Elm Street in Manchester, NH. He touched upon many important subjects during his speech and the crowd was loving it. Cheers rang out through the room and signs were waved.

Here are some of the main topics:

• Healthcare
• Invest in new technology and drugs that will help patients
• Reduce the amount of money that goes into the pockets of administrations
• Affordable and Safe Prescription Drug Importation Act - Allows patients to buy low-cost prescriptions from other countries such as Canada
• Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Act - Allows Medicare to negotiate with pharmaceutical companies to get lower drug prices for patients
• Prescription Drug Price Relief Act - Cut the cost of prescriptions in half by comparing them against drug prices in other countries such as Germany, Canada, France, Japan
• Education
• Free tuition for public colleges, universities, and trade schools
• Reduce current student debt
• Reduce student loan interest rates
• Completely fund Historical Black colleges and universities
• Climate Change/Environmental
• Change fossil fuel energy to sustainable energy, generating jobs by passing a Green New Deal
• Reduce carbon emissions with upgrades to public transit and creating more electric vehicles
• End exports of natural gas, coal, and crude oils
• Invest in infrastructure development to protect communities that are at high risk for natural disasters such as wildfires, flooding, hurricanes etc.
• Veterans
• Fully fund VA to ensure veterans have free healthcare
• Expand VA's Caregivers program
• Expand mental health services
• Expedite compensation claim reimbursements
• Comprehensive dental care for all veterans
• Gun Violence
• Expand background checks
• No loopholes for sales at gun shows, background checks equal for all sales
• Crack down on people purchasing guns for criminals
• Ban sale of assault weapons to civilians
• Prohibit high-capacity ammunition magazines
• Immigration
• Dismantle inhumane deportation centers
• Expand DACA and DAPA
• Develop a humane policy for immigrants seeking asylum
• End separation of families
• Reform immigration rules including paths to citizenship
• Marijuana
• Decriminalize and legalize marijuana
• Exsponge records of those who have been convicted of marijuana-related charges
